MISCIBILITY OF CRYSTALLINE AND AMORPHOUS POLYMERS - POLY-ETHYLENE POLYISOBUTYLENE BLENDS/

Blends were prepared from a linear low density polyethylene and a poly isobutylene in the entire composition range. Flory-Huggins interaction parameters were determined from DMTA and DSC measurements. The usual technique had to be modified in the case of DSC data, since the T-g of PE cannot be determined by this technique. The two methods yielded id entical results and indicated good interaction of the components, whic h was supported also by a SEM study and the mechanical properties of t he blends.
