Abstract
The fete of organic pollutants such as pesticides in soils is largely governed by their interactions with sail organic matter. Most of the t echniques used in the study of soil organic matter can be adapted to t he study of pollutant behavior in soil; examples of physical and chemi cal fractionation techniques and sail microbial biomass measurements a re presented hereafter.
