Abstract
The use of helicopters for maintenance on live overhead transmission l ines has become a realistic option. The helicopter blades, body and wo rking platform can be seen as creating an incomplete Faraday cage, whi ch may be an enhancement to live-line worker safety. This paper simula tes the condition using a Faraday cage which can be dismantled, in a c ontrolled laboratory environment to ascertain the effectiveness of app aratus.
