Abstract
Emulsification of xylene was carried out using mixed surfactant system . HLB concept was used to select the right surfactant mixture. Variati on in the stability of emulsion with respect to HLB was investigated b y studying interaction between mixed surfactant. The interaction arm q uantified interms of interaction parameter beta. Exact location and na ture of the interaction was (hydrophilic/hydrophobic) studied by H-1 N MR spectroscopy Charge present on emulsion droplet was calculated by z etapotential measurement.
