SUGGESTIONS FOR A DETAILED SUBDIVISION OF SETTLEMENT AREAS - USING CENSUS-DATA FOR PLANNING PURPOSES ON VARIOUS REGIONAL LEVELS

The building division of the Bavarian Ministry of the Interior togethe r with the Bavarian Regional Office for Statistics and Data Processing and the Working Group for Urban Planning published a tool with the sa me title as this paper. It purported to enable especially smaller town s, markets and communes in Bavaria to establish appropriate regional s ubdivisions for specific purposes without outside expert help. Then ce nsus data are provided for these individually delimited subdivisions. Following the information in this tool, this paper outlines the situat ion in this field in Austria.
