Abstract
Treatment of various aromatic compounds with 1-(p-toluenesulfonyloxy)- 1,2-benziodoxol-3(1H)-one 1A and iodine gave the corresponding iodinat ed compounds in good yields. Similarly, chlorination and bromination p roceeded effectively. As compared with other trivalent iodine compound s, the iodinane 1A showed the best reactivity as a halogenation reagen t.
