M. Kryszewski et J. Ulanski, THIN CHEMICALLY ANISOTROPIC POLYPORPHYRIN FILMS WITH POTENTIAL APPLICATION IN NONLINEAR OPTICS, Pure and applied optics, 7(2), 1998, pp. 211-220
Following our studies on anisotropic polymer films, we have investigat
ed the interfacial polymerization of porphyrins bearing functional gro
ups (e.g. amine and acid chloride or carbonyl and hydroxyl groups) whi
ch leads to thin films which have an asymmetry of functional groups at
the surfaces. The structure of such films was characterized. Further
investigations were carried out by means of the self-assembly method o
f deposition of arachidic acid (a model substance) onto these films. T
hey show that ordered, thermally stable layers can be obtained. These
results demonstrate that novel, organic thin films can be used as a su
pport for various amphiphilic and polar molecules leading to interesti
ng and controlled, thin layered systems.
