We present a microscopic model to describe the generation of unpolariz
ed entangled pair photons from nonlinear crystals. A complete quantum-
mechanical calculation of second-order nonlinear susceptibilities (chi
((2))) is presented. The localizability property of single photons is
then discussed within the framework of the model.
