Abstract
In this paper, a modified approach for obtaining normal forms of non-l inear dynamical systems is described. This approach provides a number of significant advantages over the existing normal form theory, and im proves the associated calculations. A brief discussion concerning the application of the new approach to high-dimensional systems is also pr esented. To illustrate the new approach, three examples are presented.
