SYNTHESIS AND CATALYTIC PROPERTIES OF NOVEL ZIRCONIUM FLUORO-SULFONATO AND BIS(SULFONATE) COMPLEXES - CRYSTAL-STRUCTURE OF [(ETA(5)-C5ME5)(2)ZR(OSO2CF3)(2)]
H. Dorn et al., SYNTHESIS AND CATALYTIC PROPERTIES OF NOVEL ZIRCONIUM FLUORO-SULFONATO AND BIS(SULFONATE) COMPLEXES - CRYSTAL-STRUCTURE OF [(ETA(5)-C5ME5)(2)ZR(OSO2CF3)(2)], Journal of fluorine chemistry, 88(2), 1998, pp. 195-199
Treatment of [(eta(5)-C5Me5)(2)ZrF2] with Me3SiOSO2R(R = CF3, C6H4-p-C
H3) yield both the monosubstituted [(eta(5)-C5Me5)(2)ZrF(OSO2R)] (1, R
= CF3; 2, R = C6H4-p-CH3) and disubstituted [(eta(5)-C5Me5)(2)Zr(OSO2
R)(2)] (3, R = CF3; 4, R = C6H4-p-CH3) sulfonate complexes, when using
stoichiometric amounts of reagents. An X-ray diffraction study of 3 r
evealed that the trifluoromethanesulfonate ligands are covalently boun
d to zirconium. Compounds 1-4 along with [(eta(5)-C5Me5)(2)ZrF(OCOCF3)
] (5) and [(eta(5)-C5Me5)(2)ZR(OCOCF3)(2)] (6) were investigated as ca
talysts for the polymerization of ethylene in combination with methyla
luminoxane (MAO). (C) 1998 Elsevier Science S.A. All rights reserved.
