Abstract
A finite element analysis has been carried out to study the fluid moti on of non-Newtonian jets emanating from a converging channel. Three ty pical non-Newtonian fluid models have been considered: the power-law f luid, the modified-Bingham fluid and the Oldroyd-B fluid. The effects of five parameters on the how field are analyzed in detail, these para meters are: the contraction ratio of the channel gap far upstream to t he gap at the channel exit L; the converging angle of the channel thet a; the power-law index n; the Bingham number Bn and the Weissenberg nu mber We.
