Abstract
Rapidly solidified Al(92.3)Fe(4.3)V(0.7)Si(1.7)Mm(1.0) alloy has been studied by positron lifetime spectroscopy, and the variations on the i nterfacial defects with the annealing temperature were revealed by an analysis of the lifetime results. The interface characteristics derive d from the positron-lifetime results could be used to give a satisfact ory interpretation of the dependence of mechanical properties on the a nnealing temperature.
