Abstract
The annealing of a [Tb(48 Angstrom)/Fe(26 Angstrom)]x77 multilayer ind uces the apparition at room temperature of a significant perpendicular magnetic anisotropy shown by Fe-57 Mossbauer spectrometry. This pheno menon is related to the existence of an amorphous and homogenous Tb-Fe alloy, located at the interfaces, which is produced by interdiffusion during the heat processing.
