T. Kon et al., PRODUCTION PROCESSES OF 3RD-GENERATION SQUARKS IN AN R-PARITY BREAKING MODEL AT HERA AND LEP2, Nuclear physics. B, Proceedings supplement, 62, 1998, pp. 216-223
We propose a possible scenario in the framework of the MSSM with R-par
ity breaking interactions of the scalar tops (stops) and the scalar bo
ttoms (sbottoms) to interpret the anomalous events with the high Q(2)
recently observed at HERA. In our model, two stops are almost degenera
te in mass and decay into (sbottom + W-boson) as well as (positron + d
-quark). In this scenario the broad mass distribution in the neutral c
urrent (NC) DIS with the high Q(2) observed at HERA could be naturally
explained. We show, moreover, that an event excess in the charged cur
rent (CC) DIS could be expected if we consider some appropriate decay
chains to the stops. Expected event distributions are shown to be cons
istent with the CC data recently obtained by the I-Il and ZEUS groups
at HERA. In the present scenario, the existence of a light sbottom wit
h mass smaller than 120GeV is essential. Possibilities of searching fo
r such a sbottom at LEP2 are also discussed.
