A. Messina et al., HPLC METHOD FOR THE DETERMINATION OF ORNITHINE CARBAMYL TRANSFERASE-ACTIVITY IN HUMAN SERUM, Annali di chimica, 88(1-2), 1998, pp. 121-128
A rapid and sensitive method has been developed for the determination
of ornithyne carbamyl transferase (OCT) based on the separation and UV
detection by ion-pair reversed phase high performance liquid chromato
graphy following on an reaction mixture. The method is based on the me
asurement of L-citrulline formed from L-ornithine and carbamyl phospha
te. The reaction conditions for the assay of OCT in serum samples were
examined. The absence of assay additional reactions or sample pretrea
tment, makes this method more advanced compared with the other ones an
d more suitable for the routine determination of OCT in human serum sa
mple.
