Asymptotic expressions for the fields scattered by an anisotropic impe
dance wedge at oblique incidence are derived in the context of the uni
form geometrical theory of diffraction (UTD), They are obtained by res
orting to a perturbative approach, considering the normal incidence ca
se as the imperturbed configuration. We observe that the limits of app
licability of this approximate analytical solution extend far beyond t
hose of standard perturbative approaches, allowing us to account for d
eviations from the normal incidence case of 20 degrees to 30 degrees.
