Abstract
A monolithically integrated semiconductor optical amplifier based Mach -Zehnder interferometer has been used to demonstrate for the first tim e simultaneous all-optical add/drop operations for 40 Gbit/s OTDM sign als. The penalty for the add operation is 1.3 dB.
