Abstract
A photoreceiver post-amplifier circuit based on a transconductance-tra nsimpedance cascade id presented which meets the specific performance requirements of dense photoreceiver arrays comprising hundreds of high bit rate channels. Simulations of 1 Gbit/s receivers show an improvem ent in sensitivity, at some cost in layout area, over previous circuit s based on low-gain voltage amplifiers.
