Abstract
Fully reproducible nuclear reactions have been observed by high densit y protons in host metals leading to a large number of nuclides spread over the whole periodical system of elements [G.H. Miley et al.: in Pr ogress in New Hydrogen Energy (Ed. by M. Okamoto), Inst. of Applied En ergy, Tokyo, 1997, p. 629]. We present here an explanation based on a sequence of nuclear reactions including virtual states (compound nucle i) in an endothermic branch with final exothermic sums of reaction ene rgy.
