Abstract
The equivalence between the Faddeev-Jackiw formalism and Dirac-Bergman n algorithm is proved. A two-dimensional constrained system and a char ged vector field are quantized in the Faddeev-Jackiw formalism. This s ymplectic method is technically developed, without recourse to Hamilto nian or Lagrangian, to quantize systems whose equations of motion are known. Examples are given to show this role. For constructing quantum approaches to the disoriented chiral condensates, the linear a model i s quantized in the instant form, light-cone form and covariant form.
