Ia. Begishev et al., HIGH-EFFICIENCY PARAMETRIC LIGHT AMPLIFIER WITH INJECTION OF THE INITIAL SIGNAL, Instruments and experimental techniques, 41(1), 1998, pp. 118-124
A highly efficient parametric superluminescence light amplifier on a K
DP crystal with an aperture of 50 x 50 mm is described. The initial ra
diation is injected from a LiF: F(2)(-)color-center laser. The paramet
ric amplifier is pumped by the third harmonic of a high-power neodymiu
m laser. The maximum efficiency of the pump energy conversion into par
ametric waves (67%) is attained, owing to special profiles of the inte
racting beams, by using a system for automatic control of the beam spa
tial profile based on a photosensitive charge-coupled device. The ener
gy of parametric waves tunable within ranges of 1.09-1.21 and 0.494-0.
518 mu m is 0.66J, with the diffraction-limited divergence and spectru
m width of 0.06 Angstrom.
