The influence of the composition of raw material (natural aluminosilic
ates or hydroxides) on the kinetics of cordierite synthesis and struct
ural-mechanical and rheological properties of molding pastes prepared
on its basis are analyzed. The advantages of joint grinding of the ini
tial components are discussed, and methods of preparing catalyst suppo
rts based on cordierite are presented.
