Di. Metelitsa et al., HEME-CONTAINING HYDROPEROXIDE TEST SYSTEMS FOR INHIBITORS OF FREE-RADICAL REACTIONS, Russian journal of applied chemistry, 70(10), 1997, pp. 1629-1636
Rates of initiation of active oxygen-containing radicals in test syste
ms consisting of hemin (methemalbumin) and tert-butyl hydroperoxide or
H2O2 are estimated using o-phenylenediamine and 3,3',5,5'-tetramethyl
benzidine as accepters of free radicals. The criterion of inhibitor ef
ficiency is the ratio k(cat)/K-m (1 mol(-1) s(-1)), determined from th
e Michaelis-Menten dependences for growing concentrations of inhibitor
s being oxidized.
