Abstract
The karyosystematic study from various populations of Artemisia herba- alba Asso of presaharian Tunisia allowed to emphasize two cytotypes, o ne diploid with n = 9 and the other tetraploid with n = 18. The morpho -biological and ecological caracterisation of the two races emphasize the differences at the level of the geographical distribution, ecologi cal demands, in vegetatif vigor and flower morphology. Such differenti ation allows us to classify both races as being different taxons.
