Abstract
A description of the characteristics of selected clones originating fr om Spanish native populations, including 'Marujas,' 'Jeronimos,' 'Cala baceros,' 'Calandas' and 'Cofrentes,' is presented. General characteri stics of other native populations that have remained unselected also a re described. Native populations from Spain may be an excellent germpl asm source for improving and broadening the genetic base of North Amer ican peaches.
