Abstract
Capnocytophaga canimorsus is a Gram negative bacterium, that belongs t o the normal oral flora of dogs and cats. Human infections, usually fo llowing dog bites, are associated with underlying conditions and alcoh olism in most cases. The authors report a new case of septicemia compl icated by meningitis that developped in an alcohol-addict, but had a f avorable outcome.
