Abstract
The polymorphism of growth hormone gene at amino acid position 127 was studied using the methods polymerase chain reaction and restriction f ragment length polymorphism. The primers 5'-GCTGCTCCTGAGGGCCCTTCG-3' a nd 5'-GCGGCGGCACTTCATGACCCT-3' were used to amplify the fragment of 22 3 bp. The PCR product was split by AluI. The frequency of allele V was 0.442 in Czech Pied cattle (Simmental), 0.300 in Czech Black and Whit e, 0.167 in German Black and White, and 0.490 in Czech Red cattle, whi ch is the original Czech brachycerous cattle and belongs to the endang ered genetic resource. There were found statistical differences in all elic and genotype frequencies.
