Abstract
Twelve ochreous, strongly adhering films at the surface of pebbles of various lithology from Fe-containing streams had a minimum thickness o f only several mu m, as calculated from the surface Fe concentration. Goethite and ferrihydrite were identified by Mossbauer spectroscopy.
