Abstract
It was shown that mercury ions can be determined by stripping voltamme try on a gold electrode in samples of drinking water without sample pr eparation. The determination of copper on a gold electrode was found t o be unreasonable. Reasoning from studying the effect of the solution composition on the character of voltammograms, the limits were determi ned for the application of the used procedure in the presence of inter fering anions and complexing organic molecules.
