Abstract
Exciting progress has been made in elucidating the complex network of receptor-ligand interactions that regulate blood vessel growth. Unders tanding these control mechanisms is of interest not only because of th eir role in developmental biology, but because they provide potential therapeutic strategies for disease processes involving angiogenesis, s uch as tumor growth.
