Abstract
An experiment has been carried out to investigate the damping behavior of foamed aluminum. It was found that foamed aluminum has a significa nt nonlinear internal friction character, i.e., its damping capacity i s amplitude-dependent, and this character tends to be more pronounced with decreasing the density and pore size.
