Abstract
Reactions of 1.8 - 4.8 GeV He-3, 5.0 - 9.2 GeV/c pi(-) and 6.0 - 14.6 GeV/c protons with Ag-nat and Au-197 targets have been studied with th e ISiS 4 pi detector array. From reconstructed events, excitation-ener gy distributions have been determined and combined with a H-2,H-3/He-3 ,He-4 isotope-ratio thermometer to study the heating curve for the the rmal-like component of these reactions. Dynamic effects also manifest themselves in the data, as evidenced by deposition-energy saturation a bove similar to 5 GeV, IMF emission during expansion, and sideways peak ing of the IMF angular distributions for beam energies E-b greater tha n or equal to 10 GeV.
