This paper presents a detailed analysis of the influence of several im
portant parameters, such as the breakage of droplets, the driving temp
erature difference, the initial mean diameter of drops from the bottom
distributor, and the maximum diameter of stable drobbles on the direc
t-contact evaporation process in a bubble column. Some simulation resu
lts agree with experimental data reasonably well. Numerical calculatio
ns show that there is an approximately proportional relationship betwe
en the evaporation height and the reciprocal of the driving temperatur
