A. Hartl et al., THE CANDIDA INFECTED HENS EGG - AN ALTERNATIVE MODEL DEMONSTRATING SYSTEMIC ANTICANDIDA ACTIVITY, Arzneimittel-Forschung, 45-2(8), 1995, pp. 926-928
The Candida infected embryonated hen's egg is a realistic complement f
or the model of the Candida infected mouse and can be used in the sear
ch for new systemically active antimycotics. This alternative method i
s rapid sensitive, convincing and inexpensive. The use of the embryona
ted hen's egg in an anti-Candida screening can reduce the use of small
laboratory animals to a considerable amount. Thus, with the help of t
his new method pain and suffering of animals can be reduced in a part
of the biologic-medical research in the sense of the animal protection
law.
