Abstract
Corrosion tests and elecrochemical measurements on underground pipelin es cathodically protected with thyristor converters were performed alo ng with the laboratory tests. They proved that one may judge the safet y of the anodic phase of a pulsating current by the calculated density of such a symmetrical alternating current that would give the real pu lsating current in the system upon summing with an appropriate constan t cathodic current. It was noted that the origins of anodic spikes of the current and the pipe-soil potential are different.
