Abstract
Pleurotus fuscosquamulosus sp. nov. is described from South Africa. Th is taxon belongs in Pleurotus subgenus Coremiopleurotus, members of wh ich produce an Antromycopsis state. In addition to a description of th e wild basidiomes an account is also given of basidiomes produced in c ulture. Relationships of our new species are discussed. Finally an app endix is included with the results of compatibility studies between P. , fuscosquamulosus, P. cystidiosus and P. smithii.
