CONTROL OF PERMEATION OF IONS ACROSS VESICLES

This research report describes our studies on functional vesicles as m odels of more complex liposomes finalized to control the permeability of the bilayer to transition metal ions and lanthanides as well as the possibility to achieve chemical differentiation of the interior/exter ior of the vesicular membrane. For this purpose we have utilized funct ional lipids and have synthesized novel oligopeptides as chemical devi ces for the tuneable control of the permeability of unilamellar vesicl es.
