Abstract
The enantioselective synthesis of 2-benzothiazolyloxiranes 3a-3m is re ported. This is based on the reaction of benzothiazolylchloromethyllit hium, 1b, and benzothiazolylchloroethyllithium, 1d, with carbonyl comp ounds under the chiral conditions created by the presence of (-)-spart eine or due to the use presence of (-)-sparteine or due to the use of the chiral lithium amide 4b.
