Within the European Union (EU), the market for consumer goods now exte nds to more than 350 million consumers. This is a huge potential marke t made even more accessible by the removal of barriers to trade within the member states of the EU. However, the market is diverse, with maj or economic and cultural differences among countries and regions. For food and drink manufacturers and retailers, understanding how pro duct s relate to this market is key to their success.
