SURGICAL THERAPY OF PRIMARY MALIGNANT-MELANOMA OF THE ESOPHAGUS

Primary malignant melanoma of the esophagus is an extremely rare tumor . In the absence of prospectively sampled data in the literature, the following case report and review of the literature indicate that surgi cal resection of the priary tumor and solitary metastases provides the longest survival times and, to date, is the treatment of choice.
