Wc. Shellhart et al., CASE-REPORT - MANAGEMENT OF SIGNIFICANT INCISOR ROOT RESORPTION ASSOCIATED WITH MAXILLARY CANINE IMPACTION, The Angle orthodontist, 68(2), 1998, pp. 187-192
Orthodontic and periodontic management of a patient with bilaterally i
mpacted maxillary canines and advanced resorption of the adjacent late
ral incisors is presented. In treating the patient, the affected later
als were retained and the canines were surgically exposed, then moved
away from the roots of the laterals and into position in the arch. Alt
ernative treatment strategies are discussed. Long-term follow-up evalu
ation revealed successful maintenance of the dentition and of periodon
tal health.
