M. Amir et R. Agarwal, SYNTHESIS AND ANTIINFLAMMATORY ACTIVITY OF 5-(8-QUINOLINOXY METHYL)-1,3,4-OXADIAZOLE 1,3,4-THIADIAZOLE AND 1,2,4-(H)-TRIAZOLE/, Indian Journal of Heterocyclic Chemistry, 7(3), 1998, pp. 225-228
5-(8-Quinolinoxyl methyl)-2-mercapto-1,3,4-oxadiazole and 2-arylamino
1,3,4-oxadiazole/2-arylamino-1 ,3,4-thiadiazole and 4-phenyl-3-mercapt
o-1,2,4 (H) triazole were synthesized by cyclization of 8-quinolinoxy
acetic acid hydrazide and N-1-(8-quinolinoxy acetyl)-N-4-phenyl thiose
micarbazide respectively and characterized by elemental analysis, IR,
NMR and mass spectral data. Compounds were evaluated for antiinflammat
ory activity by determining their ability to provide protection agains
t carrageenin induced edema in rat paw and showed 22.57 to 38.46% (100
mg/kg ip) inhibition whereas phenylbutazone (50 mg/kg, ip) used as st
andard reference drug decreased edema in rat paw by 45.40%.
