Abstract
Calculations of the filling process using 3D elements to represent the geometry of the moulded part provide better results, especially for t hick-walled parts, than do models using 2D elements. Results of variou s analyses are compared with observations of the actual filling proces s by looking at several critical points on a moulded part.
