Abstract
Quantum Monte Carlo calculations of ground and low-lying excited state s for nuclei with A less than or equal to 8 have been made using a rea listic Hamiltonian that fits NN scattering data. Results for more than two dozen different (J(pi),T) p-shell states, not counting isobaric a nalogs, have been obtained. The known excitation spectra of all the nu clei are reproduced reasonably well. Density and momentum distribution s and various electromagnetic moments and form factors have also been computed. These are the first microscopic calculations that directly p roduce nuclear shell structure from realistic NN interactions.
