The problem of the consistency for the assessment of a set of data in
the framework of nonadditive measures is considered. In particular, so
me cases are analyzed in the quantitative setting in comparison with c
lassical probability assessments. An actual extension of consistency t
o belief and plausibility measures is developed. In the qualitative ca
se, some representations of the relations by means of decomposable mea
sures are obtained. (C) 1998 John Wiley & Sons.
