We report on numerical investigations concerning the statistics of the
ground-state path in a disordered medium. For a distribution of energ
ies having a positive support, these paths are almost directed, even t
hough some overhangs are present. Computing both the directed minimum
energy path and the unconstrained groundstate paths allows us to under
stand whether the two problems belong to the same universality class.
We present numerical results in dimensions up to d=6=5+1, which sugges
ts that both problems are in the same universality class.
