Abstract
A series of chimeras between the transmembrane domains of phospholamba n (PLN) and cytochrome b(5) were coexpressed with the Ca2+-ATPase of c ardiac sarcoplasmic reticulum (SERCA2a), The chimeric molecules were n ot inhibitory, in line with our view that inhibitory PLN/SERCA2a inter actions occur in transmembrane sequences, while cytoplasmic interactio ns regulate the inhibitory interactions in a four-base circuit.
