Abstract
This paper describes field experience with low-and high-molecular-weig ht partially hydrolyzed polyacrylamide (PHPA) polymers crosslinked wit h Cr(III) carboxylate species. On the basis of that experience, the pa per addresses successes and limitations in terms of downhole temperatu re, precooling, chemical delay of crosslink One, length of time for tr eatment application, quality control of polymers from different source s/batches, equipment considerations, and premature-gelation issues. Th e paper also visits some general field considerations, including the i mportance of robustness of the chemistry employed.
