Abstract
Terephthaloylbis(3-methoxy-4-oxybenzoic acid was prepared from vanilli c acid and terephthaloyl chloride. The acid was converted to dichlorid e, which was used to prepare polyamides by reaction with various aroma tic diamines. The physicomechanical properties, heat resistance, and t he structure of the resulting polyamides tin the form of films and fib ers) were studied.
