Abstract
Experiments based on genome sequence analysis have revealed unexpected complexity in the evolution of the translation apparatus, including c oncerted evolution of Gln-tRNA synthetase and Glu-tRNA(Gln) amidotrans ferase, and a novel, class I Lys-tRNA synthetase shared by archaea and spirochaetes.
